Mrs. Nash's Top 10 Must-See List

Music Row

Owen Bradley Park on Music Row - Nashville, Tennessee.

Occupying a general area of about four by seven city blocks, Music Row is the place where the movers and shakers in the music production business have their fancy offices and do their thang. Mrs. Nash says Music Row is home to "the man."

Music Row is the place where music industry wannabe's are known to leave promotional fliers, CDs and (in the past) audio tapes on windshields of cars or in cracks of office doors, just hoping someone who knows someone, who knows "the man" will give them a listen and get them a foot in the door of the industry known as one of the toughest to crack. As such, doors to these buildings are typically secured to prevent just this type of behavior.

While you won't see too much besides some attractive buildings with famous names and logos, plus lots of banners promoting this and that music award or top selling album, the place oozes with its own sense of history. Several businesses cater to the tourist market and there are some operational recording studios. Most are strictly insider-business oriented. Recording studios – aside from Studio B - are by and large off limits to the general public.
