The Coliseum Nashvillians love their sports and they especially love their Tennessee Titans, a National Football League franchise which plays across the Cumberland River from downtown.
The Coliseum was built in the late 1990's for the former Houston Oilers. When the team moved in to their new "house" they were rechristened the Tennessee Titans. Fans, who voted overwhealmingly for the Coliseum, were rewarded shortly thereafter with an AFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl.
Tickets sell out routinely for most games.
