Mrs. Nash's Favorite Neighborhood Restaurants

Carabbas - This could qualify as neighborhood or international, but since the wait staff are mostly American college kids, Mrs. Nash didn't think it fit the international motif as well as some others might (besides this list is short enough). Found in Green Hills and Cool Springs Gallaria Mall, Carabbas gets Mrs. Nash's vote for best Italian restaurant in the reasonable price category that needlessly uses tacky radio advertising - think stereotyped loud Italian family - to attract business. The food and ambiance are great! They sell themselves. Say no more Mama.

Sportsmans Grille - There are actually two of these. One is located on Twenty First Avenue South, near Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The other is out past Belle Meade Boulevard at the intersection of State Route 100 and State Route 70. Excellent food, casual atmosphere and lots of TVs and nice staff. Expect crowds at the Belle Meade location at dinner time (Mrs. Nash says, "It seems, Belle Meade types are too rich to cook."), though both are basically the same. Run by the same folks who own the Gerst House.
