Where the Stars Buy their Musical Equipment

OK, so the title above is rhetorical. The stars generally don't buy their equipment. They get sponsorships from the music equipment companies to use their product. In return, thousands of people see the star using it. It builds brand familiarity and the company gets lots of what may be free - or less than full-priced - advertising.

Touch all you want - it's virtual !!!
The inside of a vintage guitar store in downtown Nashville

Still, there are some great musical equipment stores in Nashville. One on the top of the pile - Gruhn Guitars - is right downtown on lower Broadway, next to the honky tonks. The shop sells some of the best vintage and high quality equipment available in the USA.

Insiders Tip: It's not uncommon to go past a guitar store in Nashville and hear a familiar wailing riff coming out from behind the door. While its likely just some kid doing his best Keith Richards immitation, it is more than possible that it may be the man himself, trying out a new axe.

Hundreds of professional musicians stay in the city for recording gigs - even more make Nashville home - and they break strings just like everyone else. Plus, just like the kid playing the Rolling Stones riff, they too can't resist picking a sparkling new, golden-plated pickup equipped, hollow-body Gibson up off the display wall now and then.
