In early summer 2006, Louisiana-Pacific, a building products company, bought the naming rights to the football stadium in downtown Nashville where the NFL's Tennessee Titans play. The field formerly was known only as The Coliseum (see picture - top right) for the past several years. The new name for the facility unveiled to excited Nashvillians is LP Field. Apptly chosen, the name has a music flavor that fits both the city and the business as well. NVG salutes the choice!* * * * * * * *

"Glad they listened to me. Here's what happened (editor's note, Mrs. Nash tends to see truth differently than the rest of us). We was down at Tootsies, on Lower Broad, talking about how the Coliseum needs a name a little more fresh than the sports facility of Jesus' day - not that there's anything wrong with that. And we - me, the bartender and a couple of folks from the band - decided it should have a Nashville hook. Anyhoo, the young bartender wanted it called MP3 Field. I suggested 45 Field, and we were ready to compromise on CD Field when one of the Mayor's people walked by, heard us and saw the light."
